Sailing in the Caribbean with Sailing-Classics:

A new experience of paradise on the water

Imagine gliding through the crystal clear, deep blue waters of Caribbean on board CHRONOS or RHEA – the trade winds billowing the sails as you sit on the teak deck and watch the sunlight glistening on the waves. Welcome to Sailors Paradise!
Experience the Caribbean with us in an incomparably stylish and authentic way, far away from mass tourism and the usual routes of large cruise ships.

Explore Caribbean - island by island

The Caribbean is much more than a dream in postcard colors. On board CHRONOS and RHEA, you will experience this island paradise from a very special perspective. Our routes take you to places that can only be reached by boat – secluded bays, pristine beaches, charming islands, each with its own character. What they all have in common, however, are the Caribbean vibes and the cheerfulness of the inhabitants, the ubiquitous reggae with the unforgettable Bob Marley, the endless beaches and, above all, the exuberant tropical nature that sometimes grows almost vertically up volcanic cones. It’s infectious and some people never want to leave…

Our sailing trips offer island hopping with real, authentic sailing on huge yachts. It’s relaxing and intense at the same time…
For example, we sail you to the Grenadines and the Tobago Cays – three palm-fringed small sand islands – and the surrounding Horseshoe Reef. Ideal for a beach barbecue, or for swimming, kayaking and snorkeling. Or you can watch the locals fishing and how they often sell us their catch directly…
Our experienced crew will ensure that you feel completely at ease on board while you experience the fascination of sailing up close. If you wish, you can also actively sail along, take the helm or set the sails yourself – under the guidance of our professionals, of course. With their 54 m length, 370 t weight and 1000 m² sail area, CHRONOS and RHEA are ideally suited for sailing in the trade winds. No other area has such stable wind conditions, as the trade wind blows 9 out of 10 days… (We are only in the Caribbean area outside the hurricane season in winter). The distance between the islands can also be easily covered in sailing trips of 4 – 6 hours.

After an eventful day at sea, a culinary highlight awaits you: freshly prepared delicacies from the galley, which you can enjoy under the starry sky while the gentle rocking of the ship lulls you to sleep afterwards.

Authentic experiences on land

In addition to sailing, the focus is of course also on exploring the diverse island world. In contrast to the large cruise ships, our trips take you to hidden gems away from the crowds. Whether you stroll through the charming fishing village of Clifton on Union Island or accompany our good friend Alex on St. Vincent, a local guide, on a short walk. Past the movie sets of ‘The Curse of Caribbean’, around us papayas, mangoes, breadfruit, bananas, cocoa, nutmeg and cashew nut trees, tamarinds, taro plants, goats, chickens, cows and egrets, to a waterfall in a small botanical garden.

The Caribbean islands offer countless opportunities for nature lovers: Hikes through dense rainforests, a visit to the botanical gardens on St. Lucia or a kayak tour through the fascinating mangrove forests. While at sea, we can usually observe shoals of flying fish, frigate birds that can be carried upwind in front of the masts and sometimes whales (humpback whales or sperm whales), with the former occasionally catapulting themselves far out of the water. At anchor, there are often turtles and lots of fish to watch. But also the starry sky at night, the short but intense downpours – it is pleasure and adventure in one.

And of course, culinary delights are not to be missed: Try local specialties such as fresh fish, spicy jerk chicken or a refreshing rum punch in a cosy beach bar.

Sailing experiences with charm

On board CHRONOS and RHEA, you will not only enjoy authentic sailing experiences, but also the highest level of comfort. The ships combine the nostalgic charm of historic tall ships with modern amenities. With a maximum number of 26 guests, they offer you a private, familiar atmosphere that leaves plenty of room for individual wishes – whether you want to relax in a comfortable cabin or enjoy the spacious deck with a view of the endless sea.

We place particular emphasis on the communal experience on board. Sailing Classics quickly creates a family atmosphere that offers space for relaxed conversations and new friendships. The small groups and individual support make every trip a personal experience, where you decide for yourself how active or relaxed your day is.

Focus on sustainability

Sailing is one of the most sustainable forms of travel. We attach great importance to environmentally conscious action. Our ships use the wind as their main propulsion, which significantly reduces fuel consumption. We also take care to protect sensitive ecosystems, such as coral reefs and mangrove forests, and anchor responsibly. In this way, we help to preserve the natural beauty of Caribbean.
