From the idea to implementation
the genesis
The origins of SAILING-CLASSICS are rooted in a defining moment in 2001 during a visit to the Voiles de St. Tropez, then known as Nioulargue. Andreas Steidle-Sailer (founder of this unique sailing concept), a passionate sailor since childhood and a particular fan of classic yachts, experienced the newly restored J Class yacht Endeavour in the flesh for the first time. The enthusiasm for this majestic ship was so overwhelming that the desire arose to sail on board for a few days.
THE IDEA
THE IDEA
On the way back, the question arose as to why no one offers sailing on large classic yachts for individual bookings, apart from the usual full charters. Despite the many hurdles involved in the construction, classification and economic operation of such ships, this basic idea has remained intact to this day: To offer guests on board large yachts an authentic, relaxed sailing experience with a high level of comfort and unforgettable impressions of the most beautiful islands and coasts – as individually and spontaneously as possible, without a fixed schedule or predetermined program.
