Croatia, one of the most beautiful sailing areas in the Mediterranean Sea, attracts with light winds, diverse cities and islands, beaches and wonderful, quiet bays along the Adriatic coast. Croatia also has a lot to offer culturally. For more than 2000 years, it has been inhabited by Greeks, Romans, Croats, Bosnians, Ottomans, Venetians and Habsburgs, among others, who have all left their mark. Ancient fortresses and castles, former Roman palaces and medieval towns along the coast tell a memorable story.
Our trips along the Croatian Adriatic coast start either in Trogir near Split or in Cavtat near Dubrovnik. The airports of Split and Dubrovnik are served several times a week by the usual airports and airlines. You can also travel to Trogir by car and integrate your arrival and departure into your vacation. We can arrange a parking space on site via our agent.
The Adriatic coast has a Mediterranean climate with temperatures of 26 to 30 degrees and hardly any rainfall in summer. The typical winds in the Adriatic are the bora (dry wind from the north/northeast), the scirocco (warm wind from the south/southeast) and the maestral, a thermal fair-weather wind from the northwest that provides a pleasantly cool and constant breeze.
As if thrown into the Adriatic Sea with a light hand, the islands lie off the Croatian coast, waiting to be discovered. For example Vis. Even in the Middle Ages, whoever owned Vis controlled the Adriatic. The island was closed to tourism until 1995, which is another reason why there is wonderful, largely untouched nature to discover here. On the south-east side, the Blue and Green Grottoes are waiting to be explored by dinghy. We continue in the direction of Hvar. The island capital of the same name offers more sights than you can discover in one day. Korčula with the supposed birthplace of Marco Polo, Lastovo, Brač and many more islands are also worth a visit.
