Sailing-Classics Mediterranean Voyage

CÔTE D'AZUR

On the glamorous Côte d’Azur (Monaco, Cannes and Saint-Tropez), the hearts of all ‘yachties’ beat faster. The Mediterranean coast is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful regions of Provence and offers everything you need for a great sailing vacation on the French Riviera. The ‘Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez’ regatta is the highlight of the Mediterranean season – around 500 classic and modern yachts meet here for an impressive race.

Arrival & Departure

You can either reach the Côte d’Azur by plane and fly to Nice or travel in a more climate-friendly way with the fast and reliable TGV (train).

WIND & Weather

The wind blows with an average of 3-4 Beaufort. There are often thermal winds during the day that die down in the evening. The climate is generally Mediterranean and very mild. Particularly noteworthy are the up to 300 days of sunshine in this region. The light there inspired many artists besides Van Gogh. Rain falls mainly between October and March; in midsummer, only around three to four days per month with isolated showers are to be expected. The water temperature is over 20 degrees from the end of May/beginning of June.

Routing details

We set off from Antibes in a westerly direction, depending on the wind, through the Golfe Juan and the Îles de Lérins with the ancient monastery where the ‘Man in the Mask’ was once held captive, via the bay of Sainte-Maxime and the famous Saint-Tropez, a place that has retained its village character despite all the ‘jet set’ and where the best location is occupied by the fishermen’s cemetery… The regatta support of the ‘Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez’ is the highlight of the Mediterranean season. Around 500 classic and modern yachts meet here for impressive races. We accompany the goings-on at sea and on land. An impressive spectacle…
