Should Sailing-Classics have to change or cancel a trip, each case will be considered individually. In the case of minor changes (such as a slightly adjusted route due to weather conditions), the best possible alternative will be sought together with the guests. In the event of a complete cancellation by Sailing-Classics, you will of course receive a full refund of the tour price you have paid. The safety of the guests and crew has top priority in all decisions.
If you are unable to start your sailing trip with Sailing-Classics, you will receive a pro rata refund in accordance with the applicable cancellation conditions. Depending on the time of cancellation, 30%, 60% or 90% of the travel price (passage price) will be retained. For this reason, Sailing-Classics recommends that all guests take out travel cancellation insurance. In the event of an insured event, this will cover the cancellation costs incurred and give you the necessary planning security.
Sailing-Classics will provide you with comprehensive information for your cruise prior to departure. This includes the exact meeting point for embarkation, the name of the captain, contact details for the ship and the passage ticket. You will also receive the “Bord ABC” – a detailed on-board brochure with all the relevant information on procedures, equipment and customs on board. You will also receive a transfer offer for your journey to and from the ship.
Before departure, all Sailing-Classics guests receive the so-called “Bord ABC” – a detailed on-board brochure that covers all the important topics relating to life on board. It contains information on embarkation and departure, clothing, catering, payment on board, leisure activities, safety, cabins and much more. The on-board ABC is sent out together with the other travel documents around two weeks before the trip and answers most questions in advance.
You will usually receive your travel documents for the Sailing Classics cruise around two weeks before the start of the trip. This includes the passage ticket, the exact embarkation point with a map section, contact details for the ship and the captain, the on-board ABC and a transfer offer. This gives you enough time to complete the final preparations and get in the mood for your sailing trip.
You will find out the exact embarkation point for your sailing trip with Sailing-Classics with the passage ticket, which will be sent to you about two weeks before the start of the trip. Embarkation generally takes place at 18:00. The crew will pick you up with the motorized dinghies at the agreed meeting point. If you arrive earlier, you can drop off your luggage at the meeting point from 10 a.m. at fixed pick-up times (10 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m.) and spend the day ashore.
For a sailing trip with Sailing-Classics in the Mediterranean Sea you need a valid identity card. For trips in the Caribbean, Cape Verde or Morocco, a passport with a remaining validity of at least six months after the end of the trip is required.
For sailing trips with Sailing-Classics outside the EU – for example in the Caribbean, Cape Verde or Morocco – your passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of your trip. This requirement is based on the entry regulations of the respective countries. Check the validity of your passport in good time before you leave, as it may take several weeks to reissue it, depending on where you live.
As a rule, German, Austrian and Swiss nationals do not require a visa for most of Sailing-Classics’ sailing destinations in the Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean. Entry and exit formalities are handled by the crew on site. If special entry requirements apply for certain destinations, Sailing-Classics will inform you in good time before the start of your trip. Citizens of other countries should check the visa regulations individually.
Whether an identity card is sufficient or a passport is required depends on the sailing area of your Sailing Classics trip. In the Mediterranean Sea, a valid identity card is sufficient for EU citizens. For trips to the Caribbean, Cape Verde or Morocco, however, a passport with at least six months validity remaining after the end of the trip is mandatory. If in doubt, we recommend carrying your passport with you – that way you are on the safe side in any area.
Whether you need an onward or return ticket to enter the country depends on the regulations of the country you are traveling to. In some Caribbean countries, proof of a return or onward flight may be required on entry. Sailing-Classics will inform you of the specific requirements for your cruise in the travel documents. It is generally advisable to book a return flight ticket before the start of your trip.
In addition to the original of your identity card or passport, we recommend carrying copies of all important documents – both digital on your smartphone and in paper form. These include your passport or ID card, flight tickets, the booking confirmation from Sailing-Classics, your insurance policy (health insurance and travel cancellation insurance) and, if applicable, a vaccination certificate.
The entry requirements vary depending on the sailing area of your Sailing Classics trip. For cruises in the Mediterranean Sea, a valid identity card is usually sufficient for EU citizens. In the Caribbean – for example in Antigua, Martinique, Guadeloupe or the BVIs – as well as in Cape Verde and Morocco, a passport is required. The crew will take care of clearing in and out in the respective ports. Sailing-Classics will inform you about the specific regulations of your cruise in the travel documents.
On sailing trips with Sailing-Classics, the crew takes care of all customs and clearance formalities in the ports. As a guest, you do not usually have to take care of this yourself. However, please note the general import regulations of the respective country – especially for tobacco, alcohol and certain foods.
The entry and exit formalities for sailing trips with Sailing-Classics are handled entirely by the crew. The captain will clear you in and out at the customs and port authorities. For this, he will need your identity card or passport at the beginning of the trip, which will be kept safely on board and returned on the day of departure. Depending on the sailing area, the clearance process may require some patience.
Casual, comfortable clothing is recommended for a sailing trip with Sailing-Classics. During the day, shorts, T-shirts and swimwear are sufficient, and in the evening the style is also casual. Sporty, elegant clothing is recommended for the Captain’s Dinner on the last evening. Important: It is often cooler and windier on the water than on land – a light jacket or sweater is advisable for the evenings. Waterproof and windproof clothing should be included in your luggage in spring and fall and for crossing trips in the Atlantic.
An official packing list is provided by Sailing-Classics as part of the “ABC on board”, which you will receive around two weeks before the start of the trip. We generally recommend light, casual clothing for the day, a sporty, elegant outfit for the Captain’s Dinner, sun protection with a high sun protection factor, non-slip boat shoes or flip-flops and a waterproof and windproof jacket. You should bring your own snorkeling equipment in special sizes for children.
Soft travel bags are much better than hard-shell cases for a sailing trip on board the Sailing-Classics yachts. Especially on the KAIRÓS, whose cabins are more compact and have no storage space under the beds, foldable bags are the best choice. On the CHRONOS and RHEA, there is space under the beds for your luggage, so that a medium-sized suitcase can also be stowed there. As a general rule, the more flexible the luggage, the easier it is to store in the cabin lockers.
There are no official weight restrictions on Sailing-Classics, but normal luggage up to around 20 kg is no problem. Space in the cabins is limited (as on any yacht), so it is advisable to pack carefully. On the KAIRÓS, foldable, soft bags are particularly useful, as there is no storage space under the beds. On the CHRONOS and the RHEA, the beds offer space for luggage underneath. Practical tip: It is better to pack two smaller bags than one large suitcase.
The daily routine on board a Sailing Classics yacht follows a relaxed rhythm without a rigid schedule. Coffee and tea are available from 07:30 and the breakfast buffet starts at 09:00. The sails are then set – you usually sail for four to six hours a day. A light two-course lunch is served at around 13:00, followed by coffee and cake in the afternoon. The evening begins with a sundowner cocktail on deck before a three-course dinner is served between 19:00 and 20:00. In between, there is plenty of time for swimming, snorkeling and shore excursions.
On Sailing-Classics sailing trips, on average around 70% of the route is covered under sail. There are around four to six hours of active sailing per day. The rest of the time is for swimming, snorkeling, water sports and shore excursions. The yachts mainly anchor in sheltered bays instead of harbors, which is much quieter and more idyllic. What could be nicer than swimming around the ship after your first cup of coffee in the morning?
The wind plays a central role in the daily schedule and that is intentional. In contrast to classic cruises, there is no fixed routing. The captain often decides spontaneously which route makes the most sense, depending on the wind and weather conditions. If the wind is favorable, they sail on; if it is calm, they anchor in a sheltered bay. This flexibility is what makes the sailing trips so special and guarantees an authentic sailing experience, with a fixed start and finish port.
The atmosphere on board the Sailing Classics yachts is extremely informal and relaxed. With a maximum of 26 guests on the CHRONOS and RHEA and a maximum of 16 guests on the KAIRÓS, an intimate atmosphere quickly develops. The style is casual – most guests go barefoot and everyone on board is on first-name terms. Experience has shown that fellow passengers quickly get to know each other, and it is not uncommon for real friendships to develop, making it really hard to say goodbye at the end of the trip.
Life on board with Sailing-Classics combines fixed times of day with plenty of personal freedom. Meals follow a rough schedule (breakfast from 09:00, lunch around 13:00, dinner between 19:00 and 20:00), but in between you can organize your day as you wish. You are welcome to help with the sailing, go swimming, read a book on deck or go on a shore excursion. The crew will flexibly adapt the times to the daily schedule and the weather if necessary.
At Sailing-Classics you are cordially invited to take an active part in sailing – without any previous knowledge or sailing license. You can help set and trim the sails, take the helm yourself or lend a hand with other work on deck. The crew will be happy to explain the basic principles of sailing, show you the radar navigation on the bridge or the engine room. Those who prefer to relax can simply enjoy the passing scenery – the motto is: “Everything can, nothing has to be done.”
The cabins on board the Sailing Classics yachts are comfortably and functionally furnished. Each cabin has its own bathroom with WC and shower cubicle, individually adjustable air conditioning, a closet, a hairdryer and towels and bath towels. 230-volt sockets allow electronic devices to be charged. A reusable water bottle is provided in each cabin and can be refilled at the water dispenser in the salon.
The cabin size on the Sailing Classics yachts varies depending on the ship and category. On the CHRONOS and RHEA, the cabins are between 11 and 14 m² in size. The RHEA offers 13 double cabins in two categories: Deluxe cabins with approx. 12-13 m² and Long Cabins with approx. 11 m². The KAIRÓS has 8 double cabins – six A-cabins with approx. 10-11 m² and two more compact B-cabins with approx. 8-9 m². All cabins are air-conditioned and have their own bathroom.
There are different cabin categories on all Sailing Classics yachts. The RHEA offers deluxe cabins (approx. 12-13 m²), in which the beds can be arranged as single, double or family beds, as well as long cabins (approx. 11 m²) with a fixed double bed. On the CHRONOS there are also various categories with a similar amount of space. The KAIRÓS has A cabins (approx. 10-11 m² with double bed) and B cabins (approx. 8-9 m² with bunk bed or small double bed). All cabins have their own bathroom.
All cabins on the three Sailing Classics yachts CHRONOS, RHEA and KAIRÓS have their own bathroom with WC and shower cubicle. A private bathroom is therefore standard, not the exception. In addition, all cabins are air-conditioned, equipped with hairdryers and offer sockets for charging your devices. Towels for the cabin and beach are provided.
It is usually pleasantly quiet at night on board the Sailing Classics yachts. As the ships are often anchored in sheltered bays, the surroundings are usually very quiet. Occasional ship-related noises – such as from the anchor chain, waves or generators – cannot be completely avoided on a sailing ship, but are part of the maritime experience and hardly disturb most guests.
The storage space in the cabins of the Sailing Classics yachts is well dimensioned for a sailing trip. On the CHRONOS and RHEA there is additional space for luggage under the beds, supplemented by a closet. On the KAIRÓS there is no storage space under the beds, which is why flexible, foldable travel bags are particularly recommended. As a general rule: pack rather compactly – casual clothing, sun protection and a jacket for the evenings are the most important things.
Catering on board Sailing-Classics is organized as full board and included in the cruise price. The day begins with a sumptuous breakfast buffet, followed by a light two-course lunch and coffee and cake in the afternoon. In the evening, the on-board chef creates a three-course dinner. On the last evening, the festive Captain’s Dinner is the culinary highlight. Once a week there is a dinner ashore to get to know the regional cuisine – this is not included in the cruise price. Diets and allergies can be catered for if notified in advance.
The Sailing-Classics cruise price includes full board – i.e. all meals on board: breakfast buffet, two-course lunch, coffee and cake in the afternoon and the three-course dinner in the evening. The only exception is the weekly dinner ashore, where you will get to know the typical cuisine of the respective region. This dinner is charged separately. Water, tea and filter coffee are also included in the price.
Vegetarian options are easily provided by the Sailing-Classics galley. A vegan diet is also possible, although certain restrictions may apply due to the limited possibilities of a galley. Allergies and intolerances are also taken into account – in particularly complex cases, it is advisable to contact Sailing-Classics in advance to discuss everything in detail. The earlier you communicate your dietary requirements, the better the crew can plan the catering.
The Sailing-Classics cruise price includes still water, tea and filter coffee – these are offered free of charge on deck and in the saloon. Soft drinks, Nespresso coffee and alcoholic drinks are charged to your personal on-board account. The prices can be found in the bar menu on board. You are not allowed to bring your own drinks.
Meal times on board Sailing-Classics are relatively fixed – breakfast from 09:00, lunch around 13:00, dinner between 19:00 and 20:00. As Sailing-Classics follows an individual routing without fixed schedules, the crew can adjust the meals flexibly if necessary, for example if a particularly beautiful anchor stop or a shore excursion shifts the rhythm. Changes are always communicated by the crew in good time.
The professional crew of Sailing-Classics takes care of everything on board. This includes sailing the ship, food and beverage service, daily cabin cleaning, the organization of dinghy trips to shore and the care and maintenance of the ship. In addition, the crew will book shore excursions on request, provide tips for restaurants and sights and organize transfers. The crew is always available to answer your questions – whether it’s about sailing, technology or the next shore leave.
Both German and English are spoken on board the Sailing-Classics yachts. The language spoken on board by the international crew is English, while they communicate with guests in German and English.
A comprehensive briefing takes place at the beginning of every sailing trip with Sailing-Classics. The crew will first show you your cabin and explain all the important functions. This is followed by a mandatory safety briefing in which, among other things, the life-saving equipment, the rules of conduct for emergencies such as man-overboard or fire and general safety instructions for life on board are explained. The captain and crew are then available to answer questions at any time.
The activities on board a Sailing Classics trip are varied. In addition to active sailing, water sports such as stand-up paddling, water skiing, wakeboarding, banana boating and snorkeling are available. Swimming is possible directly from the ship via the admiralty ladder. On deck, benches and sunbathing areas invite you to sunbathe and read. There are also guided shore excursions, restaurant visits ashore, the festive Captain’s Dinner or a sailing lecture by the crew.
Swimming and snorkeling are among the highlights of every Sailing Classics voyage. On practically all routes, you are surrounded by crystal-clear water and can enter the water directly from the ship via the admiralty ladder or from the tenders. Snorkeling equipment in standard sizes is available free of charge on all three yachts. However, you should bring your own special sizes for children. After swimming, simply rinse off the salt water under the deck shower.
Extensive water sports equipment is available on all three Sailing Classics yachts. This includes stand-up paddling boards, water skis, wakeboards, snorkeling equipment and inflatable tubes (donuts). Wave kayaks are also available on the CHRONOS and RHEA.
Shore excursions at Sailing-Classics are organized by the crew with the motorized dinghies. On request, the crew will take you ashore and pick you up again free of charge – just let the team know in good time. In addition, the crew organizes guided shore excursions in many areas with a local guide or accompanied by a crew member. The participation fee is communicated in advance and settled via the on-board account. Of course, you can also explore the surroundings on your own.
On Sailing-Classics voyages, there is plenty of time to spend ashore. As there is no fixed routing and the yachts regularly anchor in bays and small harbors, there are always opportunities for independent exploration. The crew will be happy to provide tips for sightseeing, restaurants and walks. Whether you take a stroll through a charming harbor town or simply enjoy a day at the beach – you decide how you want to spend your time ashore.
WLAN is available on all Sailing Classics yachts via Starlink satellite for a fee. Mobile phone reception and data roaming are possible in most coastal areas. On the high seas – for example when crossing the Atlantic – there is of course no mobile phone reception. Many guests enjoy the digital time-out on board as part of the experience.
Electronic devices can be easily charged on board the Sailing-Classics yachts. All cabins are equipped with 230-volt type F sockets (Schuko model). Travelers from Switzerland or Great Britain should bring a suitable adapter. Please note that the output of the generators may occasionally be reduced during the night and when sailing.
On board the Sailing-Classics yachts you will find numerous quiet retreats. The large open teak deck offers benches and sunbathing areas for reading, relaxing and sunbathing. Given the size of the yachts, everyone will find a quiet spot. On the CHRONOS and RHEA, you can also “float” above the sea in the bow net at the tip of the ship – a particularly meditative place. Below deck, the saloon with its on-board library and board games and your private cabin invite you to retreat.
Sailing-Classics offers several types of voyage: The classic Sailing Yacht Journey with mostly one-week trips is the most popular variant and combines relaxed sailing with swimming and shore excursions. There are also Distance Sailing Journeys with longer distances and occasional night sailing stages, ferry trips (including Atlantic crossings), themed trips with specialist tour guides (e.g. on history or volcanoes), Regattas such as the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta and Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, as well as Trial Journeys to get to know each other.
When booking a cabin with Sailing-Classics, you reserve a single cabin on a fixed cruise and travel together with other guests. With a full charter, on the other hand, you book the entire ship exclusively for your group – ideal for private parties, company events or a group of friends. With a full charter, you can help design the route and the program, whereas with a cabin booking, Sailing-Classics sets the itinerary. Both types of booking are possible on all three yachts.
Sailing with Sailing-Classics means that you travel as a guest on a professionally managed large yacht and can actively participate in sailing operations if you wish. You do not need any sailing experience or a sailing license. The crew will show you everything – from steering and setting the sails to navigation. If you prefer to relax, just sit back and enjoy the trip. This is not a charter yacht that you steer yourself, but a passenger ship with a professional crew and full service.
An exclusive full charter with Sailing-Classics is particularly suitable for groups who want to have the ship all to themselves – be it for a special birthday, a honeymoon, a company incentive, a team event or a trip with a large group of friends. The KAIRÓS can accommodate up to 16 guests, while the CHRONOS and RHEA can each accommodate up to 26 guests. The route, schedule and program can be individually coordinated with Sailing-Classics for a full charter.
Sailing trips from Sailing-Classics vary in length. The classic Sailing Yacht Journeys usually last seven nights. There are also shorter taster trips from four nights, extended trips of nine to ten nights and long-distance trips such as Atlantic crossings with up to 21 nights on the yacht. Prices vary depending on the duration, area and season – one-week trips in the Mediterranean Sea start from around €3,500 per person.
Sailing-Classics regularly offers shorter taster cruises. These usually last three to four nights and take place in different sailing areas. They are particularly suitable for beginners who are not yet sure whether a sailing trip is right for them, or for anyone who just wants to spend a long weekend on the water.
Sailing-Classics offers various long-haul and transfer voyages. These include Atlantic crossings (both from Europe to the Caribbean and in the other direction), crossings in the Mediterranean Sea and crossings to Cape Verde, from the Azores or along the Atlantic coast. On these voyages, the routes are longer than on regular trips, and the yachts also sail through the night. Our yachts are ideally equipped for these demanding passages.
Sailing-Classics coastal cruises – for example along the Amalfi Coast, through the Cyclades or between the Caribbean islands – are characterized by shorter daily stages, frequent anchor stops in bays and regular shore leave. On ocean voyages and Atlantic crossings, on the other hand, you sail longer distances, sometimes even at night. The sea is wider, the experiences more intense: starry skies without light pollution, swimming stops in the middle of the ocean and the feeling of boundless expanse. Both options offer real sailing, just with different intensities.
Sailing-Classics regularly offers special themed trips that are accompanied by a specialist tour guide. These include trips with a focus on “Sailing & History” or volcano cruises around Sicily and the Aeolian Islands. Culinary sailing trips, for example around Mallorca, are also part of the program. In addition, Sailing-Classics accompanies regattas such as Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez and takes part in the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta.
Atlantic crossings with Sailing-Classics are suitable for adventurous travelers who want to experience the vastness of the ocean. Sailing experience is not essential. The professional crew ensures safety and navigation. You can sail along or simply enjoy the experience. The passages typically lead from Europe via the Canary Islands or Cape Verde to the Caribbean or on the return route from Antigua via the Azores to Gibraltar. RHEA and CHRONOS are perfectly suited for these ocean voyages.
Ferry trips and Distance Sailing Journeys from Sailing-Classics are particularly aimed at guests who want to focus on active sailing. On these trips, the routes are longer, there is also night sailing, and the opportunity to join in is particularly intensive. But active sailing is also possible at any time on the regular Sailing Yacht Journeys.
Single travelers are expressly welcome at Sailing-Classics. You simply book a cabin for single use – there is usually a single-use supplement, which varies depending on the season, or in the low season half a cabin, which you may share with another guest of the same sex. This surcharge does not apply during certain periods (for special offers). Due to the family atmosphere on board with a maximum of 26 guests, solo travelers quickly make friends, and quite a few regular guests of Sailing-Classics started out as solo travelers.
Sailing trips with Sailing-Classics are ideal for a shared vacation experience with friends. You can book several cabins on one trip and benefit from group discounts for groups of 10 or more. For larger groups, there is the option of a full charter – then the entire ship belongs to your group. The KAIRÓS can take up to 16 guests, while the CHRONOS and RHEA can each take up to 26. The route and program can be individually tailored for full charters.
The maximum number of guests per trip with Sailing-Classics depends on the ship. A maximum of 16 guests travel on the KAIRÓS and a maximum of 26 guests on the CHRONOS and the RHEA. There is no fixed minimum number of participants for individual cruises. The trips can also take place with fewer guests on board. For full charters, you can book the entire ship exclusively.
There are no official age restrictions at Sailing-Classics. Children are welcome, but should already be able to swim. A certain degree of physical mobility is essential, as boarding and disembarking via the admiralty ladder and being on a sailing ship generally require a certain degree of mobility. If you have any health or physical restrictions, please let us know in advance so that our team can advise you individually.
For beginners, shorter taster trips and trips in sheltered areas such as Sardinia – Corsica, Croatia or the Ionian Islands (Corfu) are particularly recommended. In these areas, the sea is calmer, the legs are shorter and the likelihood of heavy swell is low. No previous sailing experience is required – the professional crew will take care of everything. If you are worried about seasickness, you will find particularly gentle conditions in the beginner areas.
Experienced sailors will get their money’s worth with Sailing-Classics, especially on the transfer trips, Distance Sailing Journeys and Atlantic crossings. Here the sailing is more intensive and also at night, the distances are longer and the sailing experience more challenging. Active participation in the Antigua Classic Regatta is also a highlight for experienced sailors. The following applies on all trips: those who want to sail actively are involved by the crew – from steering to trimming the sails to navigation.
Private celebrations and special occasions can be ideally organized as part of a full charter with Sailing-Classics. Whether it’s a milestone birthday, wedding trip, anniversary or corporate event – if you book the entire ship exclusively, the route, program and catering can be individually coordinated. The Captain’s Dinner on the last evening also provides a festive setting. Contact the Sailing Classics team for personal advice on your event.
The yachts of Sailing-Classics are built and equipped according to the high Dutch passenger ship standards. All three ships are inspected annually by a certified classification society and are approved for worldwide operation as passenger ships. The safety equipment includes life rafts, life jackets, sprinkler system, radar, emergency generator, radar buoys (EPIRB and SART), satellite and radio systems, fire protection systems and comprehensive emergency medical equipment.
Life on board the Sailing-Classics yachts is very safe and well organized. The ships meet the highest safety standards and are inspected annually. The captain and helmsman are Graduates of the vocational maritime school and undergo continuous training. The rest of the crew is also intensively prepared for emergencies. A mandatory safety briefing takes place at the start of every trip. In addition, the yachts sail extremely stable despite their speed – even in heavy weather, hardly any water comes on deck.
Travel cancellation insurance and international health insurance are strongly recommended by Sailing-Classics. International health insurance protects you against high medical costs, and travel cancellation insurance protects you against cancellation fees.
Seasickness is rarely a serious problem on Sailing Classics voyages. Under sail, the ship is supported by the wind, which makes the rolling motion much more comfortable than with motorized ships. For most people, the vestibular system gets used to the motion of the ship within a few hours. A tried and tested home remedy on board is ginger tea, which is served during the day. If you want to be on the safe side, take a mild motion sickness medication with you. For the particularly cautious, we recommend sheltered areas such as Corfu or Croatia for your first sailing trip.
The medical equipment on board the Sailing Classics yachts is comprehensive and goes beyond the usual standard. In addition to the on-board pharmacy, oxygen, a defibrillator and other emergency equipment are available. The crew is medically trained and has direct radio contact with medical emergency stations ashore, which can instruct the administration of prescription medication if necessary. Nevertheless, Sailing-Classics recommends that you bring your own medication and a personal first-aid kit.
On board the Sailing-Classics yachts, the atmosphere is respectful and uncomplicated. There is plenty of freedom of movement. Walking barefoot on deck is a matter of course. At mealtimes, please refrain from wearing swimwear and dress appropriately. For shore excursions, the respective local customs should be observed. The captain ensures that safety standards are adhered to, and at the beginning of each trip there is a safety briefing for various emergency scenarios. Smoking is only permitted on the aft deck.
The hygiene measures on board the Sailing-Classics yachts meet high standards. Each cabin has its own shower and toilet. The galley is fully equipped with stainless steel surfaces. The cabins are completely cleaned twice a week, supplemented by a daily inspection with waste disposal and minor cleaning. The communal areas – saloon, deck, sanitary facilities – are also regularly cleaned and maintained.
In the event of an emergency at sea, the Sailing-Classics crew is fully prepared. The captain and helmsman are trained professional seamen and the entire crew regularly undergoes sea rescue drills. The ships are equipped with life rafts, automatic emergency rescue buoys (EPIRB), satellite communication and radio. Medical assistance and sea rescue can be requested by radio at any time. The safety briefing at the beginning of each trip also prepares guests for possible scenarios.
In strong winds or extreme weather conditions, the safety of guests is an absolute priority for Sailing-Classics. The captain adapts the route flexibly and, if necessary, heads for a safe location in sheltered bays or harbors. This flexibility without a fixed routing makes it possible to react to changes in the weather at any time. The ships themselves are approved for worldwide voyages and sail stably and safely even in heavy weather. Any route changes are communicated transparently to the guests.
If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, you should inform Sailing-Classics and the crew before the start of the trip. The team will be happy to advise you individually as to whether and under what conditions a sailing trip is suitable for you. In the event of health or safety concerns that have not been communicated in advance, the captain has the right not to take guests on board. Please bring your personal medication and, if necessary, a medical certificate. Unfortunately, the ships are not suitable for wheelchair users or people with severe mobility impairments.
Cleanliness on board the Sailing Classics yachts is ensured by a regular cleaning schedule. A complete cabin cleaning takes place twice a week, during which bed linen is changed and everything is thoroughly cleaned. In addition, there is a daily inspection during which the crew disposes of waste and carries out minor cleaning. Communal areas such as the saloon, deck and bar are also cleaned and maintained daily.
The drinking water on board the Sailing-Classics yachts is provided by fresh water tanks and a seawater desalination system using reverse osmosis. The water quality meets the highest standards and is regularly checked by the crew and the authorities. A reusable water bottle is provided in each cabin, which can be refilled at the water dispenser in the saloon. Still water is included in the cruise price. The tap water in the cabins is suitable for brushing your teeth, but is not drinking water.
