The small island state of Antigua & Barbuda, with just 70,000 inhabitants, used to be the “stronghold” of the British navy, as any point in the Caribbean could be reached quickly under sail from there. Even today, Antigua is a hotspot for sailors in the Caribbean.
Antigua has a lot to offer with its 365 beaches and bays. You can anchor and snorkel behind a reef on the windward side of Nonsuch Bay, swim with rays at Stinger Ray Island or sail through a passage inside the reef at Jolly Harbour.
One of the most beautiful natural harbors in the world is English Harbour with the World Heritage Site Nelsons Dockyard and the neighboring Falmouth Harbour Bay with the Antigua Yacht Club and its marina. This is also the venue for the famous annual Antigua Sailing Week and the Antigua Classic Yacht Regattain which we regularly take an active part. It is one of the most beautiful sailing events ever.
Condor will fly directly from Frankfurt to Antigua every Tuesday in winter 2024/2025.
British Airways fly to Antigua almost daily from London and Antigua is also easily accessible via Canada/Toronto. A short pre-stay in Antigua is highly recommended (e.g. at the historic Admirals Inn within Nelson’s Dockyard). Our sales team or partner travel agency will be happy to help you.
We only sail in the Caribbean outside the hurricane-free period from December to April. The sun shines most of the time and the tropical temperatures in combination with the trade winds make this region a paradise for vacationers and sailors. The water temperature in Antigua is extremely pleasant in winter at 23 – 25°C. The air temperature ranges from 22 – 30°C. There are regular tropical – i.e. torrential – downpours, after which the sun shines again. It’s “liquid sunshine” say the locals…
In addition to leisurely sailing trips around Antigua and the neighboring coral island of Barbuda – famous for its unique frigate bird reserve and its endless, totally deserted beaches – we also offer other trips via hip St. Barth (where the St. Barths Bucket Regatta of superyachts takes place here) via the Dutch Saba with the highest mountain in the Netherlands, St. Kitts & Nevis with its sugar cane plantations, the volcanic island of Montserrat with the buried former capital Plymouth and then to Guadeloupe, the French butterfly island and the oldest marine reserve Jaques Cousteaux. It is the Caribbean in all its diversity, which you can discover and experience up close from the comfort of the deck…
