Dear guests, dear sailing friends,
I recently had the great pleasure of sailing through Greece as captain on board our beautiful KAIROS. For me as Managing Director, it is particularly important to be on board regularly – to experience the impressions of our voyages up close, to interact with guests and crew and to take a look “behind the scenes”.
This trip was not only very informative, but also extremely enjoyable. It was a full charter by a lively three-generation family, who organized the week with a lot of joy, curiosity – and a great willingness to participate. Sailing with combined forces, swimming and water sports breaks together in sheltered bays and even mountain bike tours made for a wonderfully varied time.
We started in Nafplio and sailed from the Argolic Gulf around the Peloponnese into the Saronic Gulf – with stops such as Spetses, Hydra and Poros, which delighted us with their charm and liveliness.
The next stage then started with a new tour group: the spectacular journey through the Corinth Canal. This passage is one of the absolute highlights for many – and it is always fascinating for me too.
What I particularly love about the following bay of Corinth is that our KAIROS sails here in smooth water even in stronger winds – calmly, powerfully, at speeds of up to 10 knots. A fantastic feeling. Here, too, the guests lent a hand with the sails. Places like Galaxidi and Nafpaktos showed their best side before we reached the Ionian Sea under the imposing bridge of Patras. Crystal-clear water, secluded bays and relaxing summer days under sail awaited us there.
My trip finally ended in Zakynthos – with many new impressions, encounters and the certainty that each of these trips is something very special
