Itinerary

Every sailing trip follows the conditions of nature. The itinerary shown is a non-binding orientation and can change depending on wind and weather.

Today we reach one of the highlights of the trip: the Tobago Cays. Five small, uninhabited islands lie here in the middle of a turquoise lagoon, which is protected from the open Atlantic by the Horseshoe Reef.

The Tobago Cays are among the most beautiful snorkelling areas in the Caribbean. With a bit of luck, sea turtles can be observed swimming. The afternoon offers plenty of time for swimming, snorkelling and relaxing on board.

We set sail towards Bequia, the second largest island of the Grenadines. Admiralty Bay with its main town Port Elizabeth is one of the most popular anchorages in the region.

Along the waterfront promenade you will find small cafés, shops and restaurants. Bequia has a long boatbuilding tradition and has preserved much of its original character to this day. Those who wish can explore the town or enjoy an afternoon at Princess Margaret Beach.

Today the journey takes us south again. En route, a stop at Mayreau is possible, one of the smallest inhabited islands of the Grenadines.

Particularly beautiful is Salt Whistle Bay with its white sandy beach and palm trees right by the water. After a swimming stop, we sail on towards Union Island or Carriacou, where we spend the evening at anchor.

On the last day of sailing, we set course for Grenada. The passage across the open sea offers one last opportunity to hoist the sails and enjoy the vastness of the Caribbean.

In the afternoon, we reach our home port. At the traditional Captain’s Dinner, you can reflect on the past days among tropical islands, coral reefs, and idyllic anchorages together.

Important information

The best way to reach Grenada is via London with British Airways. Alternatively, there are connections via the USA and Canada.

The price includes: Costs for the nautical crew and service, accommodation on board in the booked category, sea transport, full board on board / 1 evening per week to get to know the local cuisine at own expense, water, tea, filter coffee. The price does not include: Arrival and departure, transfers, soft drinks, Nespresso and alcoholic beverages, water sports from the boat, shore excursions and tips.

The best travel time for the Caribbean is from December to April – ideal for soaking up the sun in winter. It is then tropical warm with water temperatures of 24-26°C and air temperatures of 24-30°C – occasionally there are short tropical showers. The steady trade wind ensures perfect sailing conditions.

Life on board the Sailing-Classics yachts is very safe and well organised. The vessels meet the highest safety standards and are inspected annually. The captain and helmsman are graduates of a professional maritime college and undergo continuous professional development. The rest of the crew also receive intensive training in how to deal with emergencies. A compulsory safety briefing takes place at the start of every voyage. Furthermore, despite their speed, the yachts sail with remarkable stability – even in heavy weather, hardly any water comes on deck.

Both German and English are spoken on board the Sailing-Classics yachts. The language used amongst the international crew is English, whilst they communicate with guests in both German and English. On the KAIRÓS, we cannot always guarantee communication in German.

Meals on board Sailing-Classics are organised on a full-board basis and are included in the tour price. The day begins with a generous breakfast buffet, followed by a light two-course lunch and coffee and cake in the afternoon. In the evening, the on-board chef prepares a three-course dinner. On the final evening, the festive Captain’s Dinner is the culinary highlight. Once a week, a dinner is held ashore to sample the regional cuisine – this is not included in the tour price. Special dietary requirements and allergies can be catered for if notified in advance.

Sailing-Classics organises shore excursions using the crew’s motorised dinghies. On request, the crew will take you ashore and collect you again free of charge – simply let the team know in good time. In addition, in many sailing areas, the crew organises guided shore excursions with a local guide or accompanied by a crew member. The price per participant is communicated in advance and charged to your on-board account. Of course, you are also welcome to explore the surrounding area on your own.

The cabins on board the Sailing-Classics yachts are comfortable and practically furnished. Each cabin has its own en-suite bathroom with a toilet and shower cubicle, individually controlled air conditioning, a wardrobe, a hairdryer, and hand and bath towels. 230-volt sockets are available for charging electronic devices. A reusable water bottle is provided in every cabin and can be refilled at the water dispenser in the saloon.

At Sailing-Classics, you’re warmly invited to get actively involved in sailing – no prior experience or sailing licence required. You can help set and trim the sails, take the helm yourself, or lend a hand with other tasks on deck. The crew will be happy to explain the basics of sailing to you, show you how radar navigation works on the bridge, or give you a tour of the engine room. Those who prefer to relax can simply enjoy the passing scenery – the motto is: ‘Everything is possible, nothing is compulsory.’

To cancel your sailing holiday with Sailing-Classics, please send your cancellation request by email to info@sailing-classics.com. Written notification is required so that the cancellation can be processed officially. Depending on when the cancellation is made, Sailing-Classics’ tiered cancellation terms and conditions will apply. We strongly recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance to protect yourself financially.
