Itinerary

Every sailing trip follows the conditions of nature. The itinerary shown is a non-binding orientation and can change depending on wind and weather.

Make your own way from Germany to St. Martin via Paris or Amsterdam. Your journey begins in Marigot Bay on St. Martin.

At around 6 pm the crew will warmly welcome you on board. With a welcome drink and a shared dinner on deck, your sailing holiday begins in relaxed and stylish fashion.

After a leisurely breakfast, KAIRÓS leaves Marigot Bay and sets course for St. Barthélemy. Under sail, she glides through the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. From afar you can already make out the gentle hills and elegant villas of this exclusive island. In the harbour of Gustavia, French charm blends with Caribbean joie de vivre. Boutiques, pavement cafés and a relaxed atmosphere invite you to stroll, before the evening draws to a close with dinner beneath a starry sky.

The day begins with a swim in one of St. Barth’s sheltered bays. The water is so clear that you can watch the colourful shoals of fish straight from the deck. If you wish, explore the island on your own or simply enjoy the peace and quiet on board. In the afternoon the sails are set once more and KAIRÓS heads for Anguilla. As the sun slowly sinks into the sea, you experience one of those magical Caribbean evenings that linger long in the memory.

Anguilla welcomes its visitors with dazzling white sandy beaches and crystal-clear water. The island is an insider’s tip for anyone who wants to experience the Caribbean away from the big hotel resorts. After a relaxed trip ashore, KAIRÓS drops anchor in a quiet bay. Snorkelling, swimming or simply enjoying the view – the day is all about rest and relaxation.

With a fresh trade wind, KAIRÓS sails through the famous Anegada Passage. The open sea shows itself at its finest and offers a true taste of blue-water sailing. Flying fish accompany the ship time and again, while the first islands of the British Virgin Islands emerge on the horizon. In the afternoon KAIRÓS reaches Jost van Dyke, a small island brimming with Caribbean ease. In the legendary beach bars the day ends with music, rum punch and a glorious sunset.

Today there is time to soak up the laid-back atmosphere of Jost van Dyke. The picturesque bays invite you to swim and snorkel. After a leisurely morning, KAIRÓS sets sail for Virgin Gorda and Necker Island. Along the way a panorama of green hills, small islands and deep-blue sea unfolds. In the evening the ship drops anchor within sight of Sir Richard Branson’s famous private island.

The morning begins with a spectacular view of Necker Island. The sheltered waters around the island are among the most beautiful sailing grounds in the Caribbean. Turquoise lagoons, hidden bays and an impressive underwater world set the tone for the day. After a long swimming stop, KAIRÓS sails on to Tortola. The largest of the British Virgin Islands welcomes its visitors with green mountains, small harbours and quintessential Caribbean ease.

Anchors down. In the evening an atmospheric Captain’s Dinner awaits you under the open sky – the perfect finale to your sailing holiday.

After breakfast, you transfer to the airport or begin your own extended stay on Tortola. Your journey ends with a wealth of unforgettable impressions.

Important information

St. Martin can be reached almost daily with Air France via Paris (without changing airports) or with KLM via Amsterdam. From there you can take the local island hopper to Tortola (Beef Island), or sail on board the RHEA via Anguilla and Dog Island to the BVIs and back.

The cruise price includes: costs for the nautical crew and service, accommodation on board in the booked category, sea transport, full board on board / one evening per week to discover the local cuisine at your own expense, water, tea, filter coffee. The price does not include: arrival and departure, transfers, soft drinks, Nespresso and alcoholic beverages, water sports from on board, shore excursions and gratuities.

The best time to travel to the Caribbean is between December and April – ideal for soaking up the sun in winter. It is then tropically warm with water temperatures of 24-26°C and air temperatures of 24-30°C – occasionally there are short tropical rain showers. The constant trade winds ensure perfect sailing conditions.

Life on board the Sailing-Classics yachts is very safe and well organised. The vessels meet the highest safety standards and are inspected annually. The captain and helmsman are graduates of a professional maritime college and undergo continuous professional development. The rest of the crew also receive intensive training in how to deal with emergencies. A compulsory safety briefing takes place at the start of every voyage. Furthermore, despite their speed, the yachts sail with remarkable stability – even in heavy weather, hardly any water comes on deck.

Both German and English are spoken on board the Sailing-Classics yachts. The language used amongst the international crew is English, whilst they communicate with guests in both German and English. On the KAIRÓS, we cannot always guarantee communication in German.

Meals on board Sailing-Classics are organised on a full-board basis and are included in the tour price. The day begins with a generous breakfast buffet, followed by a light two-course lunch and coffee and cake in the afternoon. In the evening, the on-board chef prepares a three-course dinner. On the final evening, the festive Captain’s Dinner is the culinary highlight. Once a week, a dinner is held ashore to sample the regional cuisine – this is not included in the tour price. Special dietary requirements and allergies can be catered for if notified in advance.

Sailing-Classics organises shore excursions using the crew’s motorised dinghies. On request, the crew will take you ashore and collect you again free of charge – simply let the team know in good time. In addition, in many sailing areas, the crew organises guided shore excursions with a local guide or accompanied by a crew member. The price per participant is communicated in advance and charged to your on-board account. Of course, you are also welcome to explore the surrounding area on your own.

The cabins on board the Sailing-Classics yachts are comfortable and practically furnished. Each cabin has its own en-suite bathroom with a toilet and shower cubicle, individually controlled air conditioning, a wardrobe, a hairdryer, and hand and bath towels. 230-volt sockets are available for charging electronic devices. A reusable water bottle is provided in every cabin and can be refilled at the water dispenser in the saloon.

At Sailing-Classics, you’re warmly invited to get actively involved in sailing – no prior experience or sailing licence required. You can help set and trim the sails, take the helm yourself, or lend a hand with other tasks on deck. The crew will be happy to explain the basics of sailing to you, show you how radar navigation works on the bridge, or give you a tour of the engine room. Those who prefer to relax can simply enjoy the passing scenery – the motto is: ‘Everything is possible, nothing is compulsory.’

To cancel your sailing holiday with Sailing-Classics, please send your cancellation request by email to info@sailing-classics.com. Written notification is required so that the cancellation can be processed officially. Depending on when the cancellation is made, Sailing-Classics’ tiered cancellation terms and conditions will apply. We strongly recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance to protect yourself financially.
