The Saronic Gulf between the Corinth Canal, Attica and the Peloponnese is one of the most popular sailing areas in Greece. With Aegina, Poros and Spetses, three of the most beautiful Greek islands await you, with the ancient theater of Epidauros one of the best-preserved ancient theaters in Greece. The journey ends in Nafplio, Greece’s first capital with a very beautiful old town. This sailing trip is also ideal for beginners.
Every sailing trip follows the conditions of nature. The itinerary shown is a non-binding orientation and can change depending on wind and weather.
Independent travel to Athens. Embarkation takes place in the late afternoon in Porto Rafti, a charming harbour east of the Greek capital. Once you have settled into your cabin, the crew welcomes you on board with a welcome drink.
At the first dinner together you get to know the ship, the crew and your fellow travellers, and look forward to a varied week of historic sites, picturesque islands and relaxed days under sail.
After a leisurely breakfast on deck, it’s time to cast off. RHEA sets course for the coastal landscapes of the Peloponnese. Along the way there is plenty of time to enjoy life on board: sunbathing, reading, swimming or simply letting your gaze wander across the deep blue water.
Sheltered bays invite you to the first swimming stops, before the yacht spends the evening in a quiet anchorage.
Today you reach the region of Epidaurus, one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. If you like, you can take an excursion to the famous ancient theatre, renowned for its extraordinary acoustics and one of the best-preserved structures of antiquity.
Back on board, you enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in a sheltered bay as the sun slowly sinks behind the hills of the Peloponnese.
Heading south, RHEA sails to what is perhaps the most elegant island in the Saronic Gulf. Hydra enchants with its unique character: cars are not allowed here; instead, natural stone lanes, traditional mansions and small squares define the townscape.
On a stroll along the harbour you discover stylish boutiques, galleries and cosy cafés. The island’s special atmosphere has drawn countless artists and writers, and to this day makes Hydra one of the most fascinating places in Greece.
After a relaxed morning under sail, you reach Spetses. This green island looks back on a long seafaring tradition and combines maritime history with a Mediterranean way of life.
Discover the lively harbour, elegant villas and the pine-fringed coastline. Perhaps you will spend the afternoon in an idyllic swimming bay before the day draws to a close with a sundowner on deck.
Today is all about sailing and the beauty of the Greek coast. RHEA anchors in crystal-clear bays that invite you to swim, snorkel or go stand-up paddling.
Enjoy the peace and quiet far from the larger harbours and experience the freedom that only a voyage on a classic sailing yacht can offer.
To round off the voyage, RHEA heads for Nafplio, one of the most beautiful towns in Greece. The former capital delights with Venetian architecture, romantic lanes and lively squares.
High above the town stands the mighty Palamidi fortress, offering an impressive view across the Argolic Gulf. At the Captain’s Dinner on board you look back on the experiences of the past week and enjoy a memorable final evening.
After a final breakfast on deck, you disembark in Nafplio. Independent departure or an optional extension of your stay in the Peloponnese.
